Annual family Christmas letters.

Christmas 2011

SEASON’S GREETINGS 2011

We spent last Christmas at the cabin at Moyie and despite a rough start (a broken water line when we re-energized the cabin) a fun time was had by all. Mom went out to test out her new snow shoes and as we went by the shore, the sun was shining, neighbours were making an igloo with the snow that had fallen off their roof onto the deck, and as we looked out to the lake there were two people kayaking in the open part of the bay. Utterly Fantastic!

Christmas 2010

Seasons Greetings to All:

Well another year has come and gone and all in all this has been a relatively quiet year for the Boyle clan.

Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009

Well I think that 2009 has to go down as the year our Jetta tried to become a jet. The Jetta began the first of three long trips one Monday afternoon in March when Pat and his buddy Scott decided to fulfil a lifelong dream of going to a NASCAR race. Of course, they couldn’t pick one close but instead drove tall the way to Bristol, Tennessee. After deciding Sunday evening that they were really going to go, they left late Monday afternoon and drove straight through (with some minor rest stops) arrived Thursday night to watch three days of racing. As is his nature, Pat found them cheap parking with breakfast included at a church and then got to know some of the regulars and got supper for two nights and an invitation to return any time. Then the marathon drive home. They almost didn’t make it as the rivers were rising and roads cut off, then got caught in a huge snow and ice storm. I wouldn’t like to say it was bad, but hey sat at the border for 15 minutes before they were even noticed because no one else was on the highway other than a few semi trucks. When they got home, we were able to life an ice impression of the license plate that was nearly a half inch thick. We initially weren’t too sure about how Scott would like all the road travel buts seems to have come around agrees to go again as long as Pat drives.

Seasons Greetings – 2008

As we come into the holiday season, it is difficult to know exactly where to start in regard to our year in review. Luckily, Pat got a first draft down and then it snowed so Deb go in the mood to help. The kids put up the tree last night and even let us play Christmas Carols while they did.

Christmas 2007

Seasons Greeting from the Reed / Boyle Clan – 2007

So the holiday season is quickly coming – and once again I do not appear to be near ready. Deb and Pat have most of their Christmas shopping done (and have had for some time) but it is December 9th and the decorations are just starting to go up, Deb has just started the Christmas baking (stuff to give away to co-workers – which means Dad has to steal a bite whenever he passes through the kitchen. We bought each other an exercise machine (Tone in Ten) a Whole Body Vibration Machine. We have been using the “jiggle” machine off and on for about half a year – and although I am not positive about all of the health benefits it espouses, it does help with toning and is very relaxing.

Christmas 2006

Seasons Greetings – 2006

Well it is that time of year again, and we are scrambling to try and get the annual Christmas letter together. Time this year seemed to pass quickly, and it was hard to look back into the blur, as to exactly what we did.

Christmas 2005

Seasons Greetings – 2005:

Well, this is probably the earliest, that we have put out our annual Christmas letter, but we’ve moved around a bit and wanted to get back in touch with our friends. As you are aware, last year was our major trip across nine provinces and 27 states – at Christmas time we were sitting at a small campground just north of the Alabama/Florida border. The trip still brings back many smiles and great memories and we wanted to share them with you. In with this letter is a CD that has Pat’s daily journal and a select few pictures. It should be readable under word or Internet Explorer. On the suggestion of a friend that does not have a computer – they still supported this way of sharing – as they would to take it down to the local library and view it on the computer there. The text version of the journal (complete with all the spelling errors) is still available on the website for those of you that want to suffer through it in its raw form. Don’t try and go through it all at once….we certainly didn’t!   After giving it some thought we have decided to keep the old motor home and are thinking of another big trip in a couple of years. Until then we will have to satisfy ourselves with shorter get-a-ways.

Christmas 2004 – On the Road

SEASONS GREETINGS:

Given our distance from home – and the web journal we have been doing – we decided that we would not send out our annual Christmas newsletter. We have tried to stay in contact with as many people as we could by e-mail – or by telephone – and will continue to do so over the rest of the holidays. However given the lack of predictability of our cell and Internet coverage in our current location – we may not be able to reach everyone. For those that we do not reach – we will have to try and get caught up with others when we read our regular mail up our return home.

Christmas 2003

So that time of year has come again – and once again it seem like we’re running late. The pace of things seems to continue to escalate, and this has been a hectic and hard year.

Christmas 2002

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2002

Well another year has flown by and I don’t know where it has gone. It’s been a busy one but I’ll try to hit some of the highlights for you.
